50-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Hit by Motorcycle in Bwengu
A 50-year-old man named Joseph Jumbo was killed on Saturday, December 24, when he was hit by a motorcycle in Bwengu.
Malawi: A 50-year-old man named Joseph Jumbo was killed on Saturday, December 24, when he was hit by a motorcycle in Bwengu, writes Victor Musongole.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Frank Gama, a 31-year-old man from Maganga Village in Mzimba, was riding an unregistered Kinglion motorcycle from Rumphi Boma towards Bwengu when the accident occurred.
Jumbo was crossing the road when he was struck by Gama's motorcycle, resulting in severe head injuries.
He was taken to Rumphi District Hospital for treatment but ultimately died from his injuries.
Gama suffered minor bruises and has been taken into police custody.
The police have urged motorcyclists to follow road rules and regulations in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
Jumbo was from Kachilala Village in Mzimba, under the jurisdiction of Traditional Authority Jalavikuba.
