Airtel Money agents win big in 'Agent Asanje' promotion

Malawi: At least four Airtel Money agents in Malawi have each won K1 million in the final draw of the 'Agent Asanje' promotion, which was launched by Airtel Malawi in December 2022, writes Moses Nyirenda.

The winners are Dickson Kampunga from the central region, Yesaya Unyolo from the southern region, Angellah Simumbo from the northern region, and Daud Kachere from the eastern region.

"We came up with the promotion to celebrate with our agents during the festive period; equally, the purpose of the promotion was to ensure that we top up the operating capital for the agents as airtel money business capital capacity is quite important," said Daniel Kamanga, Head-Agent Products and Distribution at Airtel Malawi.

"This is just the beginning there shall be many more exciting promotions for our agents because they are critical in the Airtel money business.”

Since the promotion's launch, 320 agents have won K20,000 each, while 112 agents have won K300,000.

The grand draw of the promotion was attended by Airtel Malawi officials and some Airtel Money agents from Lilongwe.

"I am excited to be one of the big winners, many agents qualified for the promotion, but a lot of them didn't succeed," said Yesaya Unyolo, one of the K1 million winners.

"The money that I have won would assist me in boosting up my Airtel money business."

The grand draw of “Agent Asanje promotion was patronized by some of the Airtel Malawi officials as well as some of the Airtel money agents from Lilongwe.
