Boy Dies after Falling from Moving Vehicle in Malawi's Dowa District

Dowa, Malawi-A 15-year-old boy from Chembe Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa District, Malawi, has died after falling off a moving vehicle, writes Sylvester Kumwenda, MANA.

According to Dowa Police Spokesperson, Inspector Gladson M’bumpha, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Namanda Village along the Lilongwe-Salima road.

The Toyota Dyna Pick-up, registration DA 9536, which was being driven by Ezadi June, aged 50, had six passengers on board, and the deceased, Rodrick Finwel, fell from the vehicle while it was moving and landed on the tarmac road with his head first.

Finwel was rushed to Salima District Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

M’bumpha has since advised drivers to always follow road safety measures to avoid accidents caused by reckless driving.
