CBO plants 300 trees to combat climate change in Mzimba district
Kulya Ndiko Uku Community Based Organization (CBO) in Mzimba district has planted 300 trees to conserve the environment-Alinafe Sambo.
Malawi-Kulya Ndiko Uku Community Based Organization (CBO) in Mzimba district has planted 300 trees to conserve the environment, writes Alinafe Sambo.
The director of the CBO, Lexah Harrison, said that they planted trees to combat the effects of climate change.
Harrison says, 'We planted these trees because our organization relies on trees to conduct our daily operations.'
The assistant forestry officer for Mzimba South, Isaac Baloyi, praised the organization's contribution to forest restoration.
Mulumuzana Gift Daniel Gausi, for his part, vowed to take care of the trees. Forestry officials in Mzimba revealed that the district aims to plant 9 million trees this year.
