Chakwera meets comedian Daliso Chaponda

Malawi: Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera hosted Malawian comedy artist Daliso Chaponda at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Monday.

Daliso was in Malawi for a series of comedies in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

According to a State House communication, President Chakwera is pleased with Daliso's achievements in the comedy arts and has encouraged Malawi's export to continue flying the Malawi flag around the world.

"His Excellency encouraged Daliso to continue waving Malawi's flag high across the world and being the national treasure that he is," the communication says.

On his part, the comedian says the President "said very encouraging words about the power of the art to inspire."

Daliso, in a post on his social media platform, says he was honoured to be invited by the State President and had a "wonderful time."

When he met the president, the comedian who reached the finals of Britain's Got Talent was accompanied by another Kenyan comedian, Salvado.
