MALAWI: President Lazarus Chakwera today presided over the swearing-in ceremony of two newly-appointed cabinet ministers at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
The two ministers are Jacob Hara, who is now the Minister of Transport and Public Works, replacing the late Sidik Mia, and Professor Blessings Chinsinga as Minister of Local Government, replacing the late LingIson Berekanyama.
During the event, Chakwera took his time to thank the public for the help they have been giving the Tonse government as he knows that all the developments wouldn't have been successful without the support from the public.
He, for instance, mentioned that the coronavirus battle wouldn't have been won if it wasn't for Malawians who are still following all the gazetted Covid 19 measures and people getting the covid vaccine.
The Malawi leader also hailed the public in the fight against corruption, saying his government wouldn't have been able to fight the vice if it wasn't for the people who reported such activities and gave evidence of the acts, just to mention but a few.
