Corporate Carnival Malawi presents first Inter-Company Sports festival on Oct. 22

Corporate employees will compete for individual glory and company pride across a variety of sporting categories at the event.

Malawi: Corporate Carnival Malawi is planning Malawi's first Inter-Company Sports Festival, with the first date set for Limbe Country Club in Blantyre on October 22, 2022, writes Watipaso Mzungu.

Since then, the company has promised a fun-filled day of action sports, games, music, performances, competitions, health, fitness, and other activities.

"We are excited because there is no other event that brings together management and staff from various companies to engage in competitive action sports and various entertaining social activities," said Ausa Kamanga, the organizer of the Corporate Carnival.

"This is an opportunity for participating companies to build teams, network, and boost employee morale and pride. It is a well-defined target market for brand awareness activities and product and service promotion for sponsors and merchants."

Corporate employees will compete for individual glory and company pride across a variety of sporting categories at the event.

The Ultimate Corporate Trophy will be awarded to the company with the most medals across all sporting categories.

Other awards include the Active Employer Award, which goes to the company with the most participants for promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle among employees, and the Individual Award, where winners receive gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The other category is Team Trophy, which is an award given to the teams that win the most sporting events.

Football (Men/Women), netball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, pool, golf, bawo, chess, and athletics 100m are among the competitive games scheduled for the festival.

To establish its course of promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle among corporates, Kamanga stated that the festival will offer its patrons free aerobics sessions, Yoga, blood pressure and sugar level checks, and expert dietary tips.

Hoopla and Aim Games, DJ Performances, Children's Playground Games, and other Funfair activities will also keep patrons entertained.

"We are urging companies to register early so that logistical preparations for the games can be made," Ausa Kamanga said.

"This is an interactive event never seen before in the history of corporate events in Malawi, but it all depends on the corporations' responsiveness."
