CSOs Threaten Government with Nationwide Demonstrations Over Martha Chizuma Interdiction
The Central Investigation Department (CID) and other intelligence departments were present at the meeting.
Malawi: A joint coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs) has issued a warning to the government, threatening to hold nationwide demonstrations if President Chakwera fails to reinstate Martha Chizuma within ten days, writes Judgment Katika.
The CSOs had planned to meet with members of parliament to present a petition over Chizuma's interdiction, but their request was blocked as the laws do not allow such meetings unless there is a special arrangement.
