Docco-man back in music business, drops Azikhala ndi Ndalama

Docco-man entered the music industry in 2009, inspired by friends and a local hip-hop music maestro known as Mwanache.

Malawi: Docco-man, a Malawian hip-hop musician based in South Africa, has re-entered the music industry with a hit titled Azikhala ndi Ndalama, which is an advice to young men and women to be financially independent when in a romantic relationship.

Among other things, the new song, which is a fusion of Chichewa and English, encourages young men and women to work hard while discouraging young couples from constantly begging each other for money and other things that require money to be acquired.

Part of the song goes, "Boyfriend azikhala ndindalama/ boyfriend azimenya ma hustle/ naye girlfriend azikhala ndindalama/ naye girlfriend azimenya ma hustle/ osamangokhalira send me money/ osamangokhalira buy me bundle."

Clement, the real name of Docco-man Kim stated that he was inspired to write the song after observing the current trend in modern romantic relationships.

He said: I came up with the idea for my song after observing that nowadays if you are not working, it is difficult to find a girlfriend. For example, when you approach a lady looking for a relationship, you are asked various questions such as; do you have a car? Do you have a house? Alternatively, what do you do for a living?”

"So, if you lied in order to be accepted, you meet the demands along the way of the relationship, such as the girl asking you for things like internet bundles, and if you have nothing to offer, you start blaming the girl, saying she is demanding or a gold digger.”

As a result, he stated that his new song is intended to encourage young men and women in relationships to be financially independent and support one another.

"The love affair works well when everyone has money because you can support each other as a couple and go far in your relationship,” he said.

"As a result, my new song was released to encourage young men and women in love relationships to be financially stable and to help each other as a couple.”

Furthermore, in reference to the new song, Docco-man advised ladies not to always beg money from their boyfriends to do basic tasks such as going to a hair salon, buying food, and airtime for themselves, claiming that their dependency syndrome causes men to leave the relationship.

Docco-man entered the music industry in 2009, inspired by friends and a local hip-hop music maestro known as Mwanache.

His hit songs include Tidzawakwatila koma Mochedwa and Ma Yoh Matama remix.
