Malawi - Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of an 18-year-old man at Matutu Trading Centre in the area of Traditional Authority Nyoka in Mchinji, according to Mchinji Police Station Publicist Limbani Mpinganjira, writes Andre Rico Harare.

The suspects were identified as Lickson Zembeni, 24, Bazilio Sitandi, 31, Francis Henry, 33, all from Traditional Authority Nyoka, and Davie Shadreck Dzonzi, 43, of Traditional Authority M'duwa in Mchinji.

Mpinganjira told Mudziwathu Radio Station that the suspects assaulted Pofera Sofiyala to death on February 22, 2023, after catching him stealing from the house of Daniel Mpangaza at Matutu Trading Centre.

On the night of February 28, 2023, police arrested the four suspects.

They will appear in court soon to answer the murder charge, which is contrary to Section 209 of the penal code.
