Friends of Kandewu Donate Items to Kandewu Health Centre

Malawi-A group called Friends of Kandewu has donated various items to Kandewu health centre in the Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu district, writes Judgement Katika.

According to Emmanuel Khumalo, a member of the group, the donation was prompted by the health centre's numerous challenges.

Khumalo explained that the group raised K1.5 million through a big walk and soliciting donations from well-wishers.

The items donated included blankets, clothes, and medical equipment such as drip stands, gloves, and chairs.

Khumalo added that the group plans to purchase an ambulance and tents for the health centre and Ganya primary school.

Traditional Authority Ganya commended the Friends of Kandewu for their initiative in reducing the health centre's problems.

The ceremony was marked with Ngoni traditional dance, Ingoma, and drama.

Friends of Kandewu is a Lilongwe-based group formed in 2018 to support each other during difficult times and emergencies.
