Global Health Corps welcome a new cohort of fellows

Winnie Shella, one of the new fellows, stated that they are very excited to be a part of the cohort, despite the fact that it will be extremely difficult.

Malawi: Simon Simkoko, Malawi Senior Country Director for Global Health Corps (GHC), has urged the new fellows for the 2022-2023 cohort to be more courageous and strong on the journey they are about to embark on because it will be difficult and challenging.

Simkoko stated this in Lilongwe during a welcoming event on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

He stated that GHC's goal is to invest in young leaders and bring them into the health space, but that this does not mean that they should relax; rather, they should be prepared to fight because the journey will not be easy.

"It's not an easy journey; it's extremely difficult. They must accept it, they must fight for it, they must be open and ready to work, and they must be willing to learn along the way because it is a difficult journey,” he elaborated.

Winnie Shella, one of the new fellows, stated that they are very excited to be a part of the cohort, despite the fact that it will be extremely difficult.

"It feels amazing to be a part of GHC fellows; it will be exciting and challenging, but I know it will be a learning platform for us,” Winnie stated

The GHC fellowship seeks and develops talented young leaders with diverse skill sets and backgrounds to promote collaboration on a variety of health issues in the country of placement.
