Governance, social accountability stakeholders lament impact of corruption on public service delivery

The observation was made during a social accountability learning platform workshop in Mponela, Dowa on Saturday.

MALAWI: Governance and social accountability stakeholders in the country have lamented the impact of corruption on the delivery of gender-responsive public services, claiming that the vice is depriving girls and young women of the right to quality services.

The observation was made during a social accountability learning platform workshop currently taking place in Mponela, Dowa.

Officials from the Parliament, Ministry of Finance, Local Government, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Malawi Health Equity Network, the Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency, Nasfam, AfricaBrief, and the Platform of Investigative Journalism are among those attending the meeting.

The workshop is part of ActionAid Malawi's regional Partnership for Social Accountability (PSA) Alliance project in the country.
