Hannah hopes to make it big in film industry

13-year-old actress, Hannah Sukali, who is the main actress in the latest Malawian movie titled ‘Fatsani’ said that she dreams to make it big in the local film industry and putting Malawi on the map.

MALAWI: 13-year-old actress, Hannah Sukali, who is the main actress in the latest Malawian movie titled ‘Fatsani’ said that she dreams to make it big in the local film industry and putting the country on the international map.

This comes after her recent trip to Nigeria where she was nominated as the best young actress in Africa at African Movie Academy Awards (AMAAwards).

In an exclusive interview, Hannah said that during her visit to Nigeria she learnt various things from veteran actors and actresses and she said that what she learnt will completely contribute to the advancement of her acting career.

“My trip to Nigeria was good and great, I learnt many things concerning acting from big actors and actresses which I met while in Nigeria.

“I am sure that, with the new knowledge and skills I have gained concerning acting I will make it big in the country’s film industry and I am looking forward to putting our film industry on the international map,” Hannah said.

She added that she is geared to work hard to advance her acting skills in order to achieve her dream of becoming an international actress.

In his remarks, Film Association of Malawi (FAMA) President Gift Sukali also known as Sukez said that Hannah’s nomination in the AMAAwards was a great achievement to the country’s film industry.

“Hannah being nominated as the best young actress in Africa is a big achievement in as far as the film industry is concerned in the country, her nomination helped to put Malawi on the international spotlight and people outside the country are now aware that in Malawi we also make films,” Sukali said.

Sukali who is also part of the HD Plus Creations team which produced the Fatsani movie also said that while he accompanied Hannah to Nigeria they managed to enlarge the network between the country’s film industry and international film producers.

“Through Hannah’s trip, we managed to create more connections and networks as we met prominent figures in the international film industry that we were just seeing on Television.

“As we met these prominent figures in person, we went to their offices to discuss how we can work together and uplift our film industry,” Sukali said.
