inDrive Revolutionizes Ride-Sharing in South Africa with Free Mobile Data Partnership
This partnership also covers the data costs of three other telecom operators, whose combined market share in South Africa is 99%.
South Africa: Ride-sharing app inDrive has made history in South Africa by becoming the first to offer free mobile data to its users.
The international IT platform for transport and consumer services aims to fight injustice and aid in the development of urban areas through the use of new technologies.
In partnership with leading mobile operator MTN, inDrive is able to cover the cost of mobile data consumed when using the app in nine South African cities: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha, East London, Pietermaritzburg, Rustenburg, and Polokwane.
This partnership also covers the data costs of three other telecom operators, whose combined market share in South Africa is 99%.
InDrive was established in 2013 with the aim of offering a different option to services from taxi aggregators that have rigid pricing policies.
The service utilizes a peer-to-peer pricing model, enabling passengers and drivers to negotiate fares directly, resulting in more transparent and fair terms.
