Lilongwe-based woman goes away with Toyota Voxy in Marymount Raffle Draw

The raffle draw's main goal is to raise 250 million Malawi Kwacha to expand the boarding facilities to accommodate more learners with the goal of promoting girl children.

Malawi: Jayne Chirambo Nkhata, 30, of Lilongwe's Area 49, burst into tears after being announced as the second winner of the Toyota Voxy in the draw held on June 25th, 2022.

The raffle draw's main goal is to raise 250 million Malawi Kwacha to expand the boarding facilities to accommodate more learners with the goal of promoting girl children.

In a special interview with Chirambo, she stated that this means a lot to her because she has proven that one does not need connections to win these types of competitions.

"I did it on my own, I don't know anyone from Marymount Girls. God was my only connection. I entered four times with 250 kwacha making it 1000 kwacha only," she explained.

The car will help my business, and I will not stop here; I will continue to participate in other raffle draws, she added.

Macloud Mwambene, the chairperson of the Central Region chapter of Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School, stated that everything is going well and that the way people are showing interest in participating makes them happy.

The Marymount administration has decided to end the competition with two raffle draws, with the grand prizes being a boat and a minibus.

Marymount Girls Catholic Secondary School was founded in 1963 by the Diocese of Mzuzu.

The competition is governed by the Gaming Board and the National Lotteries Board.
