Local NGO Donates Clothes and Shoes to Elderly, Disabled Persons in Nsanje
Local NGO, Do Charity Work Together, donated second-hand clothes and shoes to elderly and disabled people in Bangula, bringing joy, writes Cornelius Lupenga.
Malawi- Do Charity Work Together, a local non-governmental organization, brought joy to scores of elderly people and those with disabilities when they donated second-hand clothes and pairs of shoes on Saturday in Bangula, writes Cornelius Lupenga.
Chrise Nyale, one of the recipients, expressed her gratitude and said, "I did not expect to receive such generosity. I am so happy and grateful for what Do Charity Work Together has done for us."
Denis Thubu also joined Nyale in thanking the organization and urged other well-wishers to support those in need in their villages.
"There are many of us in the villages who are in dire need of both food and non-food items," he said.
Lytone Sekabe, the director of the organization, expressed gratitude to William Kwembe, who donated second-hand clothes and pairs of shoes.
He noted that the donation was timely, and the vulnerable people in the area had nothing to depend on.
Sekabe called on other NGOs and well-wishers to emulate Kwembe's gesture in helping those in need. Do Charity Work Together operates in the area of Traditional Authority Mbenje in Nsanje and reaches out to over 100 elderly people and persons with different disabilities.
"We strive to support the elderly and disabled people who are the most vulnerable in our communities. We rely on the goodwill of well-wishers and partners to continue with our work," Sekabe said.
