Malawi President Congratulates Salima Secondary School Football Team for Winning Bronze at CAF Championship

Lilongwe, Malawi-President Lazarus Chakwera has congratulated the Salima Secondary School football team for their recent bronze medal win at the 2022/23 Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Schools Championship in Durban, South Africa, writes Winston Mwale.
In a post on his Facebook wall, the president expressed his appreciation for the team's outstanding performance, saying that they had brought great joy to a suffering nation in the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy.
President Chakwera also advised the young footballers to continue projecting a victorious demeanor both on and off the field so that they can excel in all areas of their lives.
He added that with the right mentality and frame of mind, Malawians have the capacity to overcome any challenge they encounter on a day-to-day basis, not only in sports but in all aspects of life.
The president thanked the Football Association of Malawi for providing material and technical support to the team, NBS Bank for gifting the boys in response to their appeal, the Salima Secondary School for being the custodian institution, and the parents and guardians for their continued mentorship of the young ones.
President Chakwera concluded his post by congratulating the Salima Secondary School football team once again, calling them the pride of the nation.
