MZUZU, MALAWI - Participants from Malawi and Tanzania attending the Trade and Investment Forum in Mzuzu on April 27, 2023, praised the organizers for their efforts in promoting cross-border trade and investment between the two countries.
The theme of the forum, "Enhancing Bilateral Economic Relations through Cross-Border Trade and Investment," brought together business leaders and government officials from both countries to discuss ways to strengthen economic ties.
For example, Doreen Mlimi, who works in the beverage and cereal industry in Tanzania, expressed her appreciation for the initiative and said it would help her achieve her dream of exporting and importing goods from Tanzania to Malawi.
The forum, which began on April 26, will conclude on April 28, 2023. Tionge Hara of AfricaBrief spoke to a number of participants, who all shared the sentiment that the forum has been a valuable opportunity to learn from each other and explore new business opportunities.
The Trade and Investment Forum is a significant step towards increasing economic cooperation between Malawi and Tanzania and is expected to foster further collaboration in the future.
