The president is currently conducting a series of bilateral meetings with international partners who are providing support to the disaster-stricken people.
Earlier today, President Chakwera met with Tanzania's Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Stergomena Lawrence Tax.
The president expressed his profound gratitude to the government of Tanzania for providing two helicopters that are already assisting with relief efforts in all the disaster-affected areas.
President Chakwera also learned that 30 truckloads of food items will be on the road to Malawi to support their efforts.
The minister has assured the president of further support from the Tanzanian government.
The president expressed his gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan and the people of Tanzania for their kind gesture.
The president's meetings with international partners are part of ongoing efforts to provide support to those affected by Cyclone Freddy.
