MCHINJI CCVEAS HAILED ON ELECTION INFORMATION DISSEMINATION

Some people in Mchinji say they are satisfied with the way constituency civic education assistants CCVEAs are working in giving people information on the forth coming flesh presidential election.

One of the people sub traditional authority Gumba said people in her area get first hand information about the forth coming election from the CCVEA’s.

Speaking in an interview STA Gumba said the CCVEAs work hand in hand with the chiefs in disseminating the information.

“I am satisfied with the way these people are working in the district, like in my area which is Mchinji North constituency, Innocent Addson works around the clock giving people information on the coming election, and I am sure that everyone in my area will vote as they have enough information about what is happening on the ground,’’ said STA Gumba.

Speaking in a separate interview, Takondwa Konyani from Mchinji south west constituency hailed Mark Domisiano for taking them closer to Malawi electoral commission with the information on the same.

Konyani said MEC through the CCVEAs is trying their best to give them the information but it seems that some people are tired of what is happening in the country concerning the forth coming elections.

“a lot has been said about the flesh presidential elections, some months ago it was communicated that the polls will be on 2nd July but later we were told that it will be on 23rd June and this has brought confussion to the voters leading to voter apathy,” said Konyani.

From 10th to 11th June, people in Mchinji have been verifying their names to check if they are on the voters’ role and it seems a lot of people had the information from the CCVEAs but choose not to go to verify their names saying if they voted in 2019 they will also vote this year.

Mchinji has five constituencies with five CCVEAs Clara Mpambe, Joana Nyali, Moses kamkwamba, Maclean Chasweka, and Innocent Addson.
