Minister of Education praises ISAMA for developing education sector in Malawi, writes Benson Kamonjola.
Blantyre, Malawi - Minister of Education Madalitso Kambauwa Wilima has praised the Independent Schools Association of Malawi (ISAMA) for their contributions towards the development of the country's education sector, writes Benson Kamonjola.
Speaking at the first-ever ISAMA conference, which is taking place in Blantyre, Wilima stated that the government appreciates the efforts of privately owned schools to complement the government's mission to make quality education accessible to all.
"To complement our ambition, the Ministry intends to identify and address current and emerging challenges affecting access to quality education and explore the possibilities and opportunities of using public-private partnerships," said Wilima.
The government has also embarked on a project aimed at constructing 200 schools in the country and upgrading existing ones.
ISAMA President Wycliffe Chimwendo expressed his gratitude towards the government and stated that the conference will help members of the association to share knowledge and expertise in the education sector.
"We are grateful for the support we receive from the government, and we urge them to continue assisting independent schools wherever necessary," said Chimwendo.
The conference will tackle a variety of issues related to the education sector, including mental health and wellness, the development of school policies, financial management, and positive discipline.
Additionally, the conference will introduce attendees to digital platform learning.
The ISAMA conference is a testament to the commitment of both the government and the private sector towards the development of the education sector in Malawi.
The collaboration between the two entities will undoubtedly lead to improved access to quality education for all.
