Minister impressed with ‘Nyimbo zachitsotsombetso volume 1’

Malawi: Minister of National Unity, Timothy Pangonachi Mtambo, was impressed by Assembles of God Church Pastor, Nick Chakwera's reggae music collection dubbed 'Nyimbo zachitsotsometso volume 1'.

This follows the recent release of a reggae music album, which was accompanied by the 10th-anniversary celebration of Chanel for All Nations (CAN) TV and the radio phone-in program Ring of Truth, hosted by Pastor Nick Chakwera every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Mtambo stated that the songs in Chakwera's reggae music collection, which is aimed at young people, have a powerful message.

"The songs in Pastor Chakwera's newly released album have the message of freedom, unity, and reconciliation," he said. "I am also very happy that the message in the songs is focusing on influencing the lives of young people."

According to the Minister, Nyimbo zachitsotsombetso volume 1 was an inspiration that music could be used for a good course, among other things.

"The album shows that music that has been abused by others can be used effectively to bring sanity into society."

"Additionally, most people believe that reggae music is only done by people who smoke chamba, but Pastor Nick Chakwera's reggae music has proven that we can use reggae music to influence or bring people closer to God," he said.

Pastor Chakwera stated that his music in Nyimbo zachitsotsombetso volume 1 was aimed at advocating (Kutsotsombetsa) for the way, the truth, and life so that people, particularly youth, could understand issues concerning spiritual life, among other things.

The ten-track reggae music album includes songs such as 'No Ganja,' 'Nothing but the blood of Jesus,' 'Gregorian Chant,' and 'Mwatiyenjeza,' to name a few, and is available for purchase at CAN radio and TV stations in Lilongwe.
