Malawi: Director of Information in the Ministry of Information and Digitalisation, Chikumbutso Mtumodzi, Friday presided over the official opening ceremony for the interface meeting with local councils on the enhancement of effective communication for government interventions and projects in Mponela in Dowa district.

The interface was organized with the goal of sharing ideas and working to improve communication about government programs, projects, and developmental initiatives taking place in various district councils.

He went on to appeal to the councils to inform the masses on various development activities currently underway in the councils, which are transforming people's lives, in order to close the information gap currently existing between the councils and the masses.

He also appealed to community radio stations to prioritize support for the dissemination of the council's work and development initiatives being implemented and called upon councils to consider community radio stations as partners and provide them with the necessary support.

The interface meeting, organized by the Ministry of Information and Digitalization, brought together representatives of the councils, district information officers, community radio stations, and civil society organizations.
