Ministry of National Unity Signs MoU with Community Radio Stations to Promote Mindset Change, Achieve MW2063 Agenda
The ministry and the radio stations have agreed to jointly develop programs and messages for sensitizing communities on various topics and promoting information sharing.
Malawi: The Ministry of National Unity in Malawi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with nine community radio stations in the Southern Region to promote mindset change and move towards fulfilling the MW2063 developmental agenda, writes Comfort Bulangete.
The MoU aims to enhance collaboration between the two parties in providing civic education to communities on important issues that require citizen awareness, according to the Principal Secretary in the ministry, Dr Elizabeth Gomani Chindebvu.
The ministry and the radio stations have agreed to jointly develop programs and messages for sensitizing communities on various topics and promoting information sharing.
The Ministry is responsible for promoting the mindset change enabler of the Malawi 2063 agenda, which aims to transform the country into an industrialized, upper-middle-income nation by 2063.
Sakina Majawa, representing Chanco community radio station, stated that the MoU will help the nation achieve the Malawi 2063 Agenda because the audience will be exposed to different programs that promote positive thinking.
The signing of the MoUs comes after a similar agreement was signed with community radio stations in the Central Region, and plans are in place to also sign MoUs with those in the Northern Region.
