MyBucks advises customers to remain vigilant against fraudsters
Sylvester Chalira, the Head of Risk at MyBucks, explained that the warning is intended to encourage customers to participate in the safeguarding of their funds.
MALAWI: MyBucks Banking Corporation, one of the country's fastest-growing financial institutions, has warned its customers to be wary of fraudsters who use deception to steal people's money.
MyBucks Head of Risk, Sylvester Chalira, said that the caution comes as a means of engaging customers to take part in safeguarding their money.
“Our customers work hard to earn their money and the reason they bring it to the bank is to save it safely. We, therefore, implore them to take part in safeguarding their money by keeping their Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Agency Banking and ATM PINs and passwords safe at all times,” Chalira said.
Customers should check their surroundings whenever they transact at an ATM to ensure that no one sees them enter their PIN, he advised.
Customers must not share private information such as ATM PINs with anyone under any circumstances, he added, and MyBucks employees will never ask for a customer's password.
Chalira also advised customers to contact the MyBucks toll-free call center at 358 if they suspect their account has been hacked, and to report the incident to the authorities.
According to him, MyBucks will keep on helping its customers to be alert against fraudsters in the country that are seeking to steal people’s money.
“The bank will continue advising and safeguarding customers from treacherous behaviors with relevant information through various platforms, including the bank’s website and other official online platforms, in line with the Reserve Bank of Malawi’s directives on consumer protection,” He said.
Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Zomba, Mangochi, Dzaleka, and Kasungu are among the 14 branches of MyBucks Malawi, which is a fully-fledged bank. There are also more than 80 agents, 30 ATMs, three Forex Bureaus, and a Microfinance Division.
The bank also provides a comprehensive range of banking products and services, as well as Bancassurance and Microfinance.
