MALAWI: A Chilobwe-based non-governmental organization Courageous Kids Foundation (CKF) has embarked on an initiative to support children who lost their parents attain education in Blantyre.

The Deputy Director of the organization Evance Mpokosa has commended the great efforts people are rendering for them to reach out to less privileged orphans in the city.

“We are doing our best to make sure that we support more children using our own pocket money and still thank those people of goodwill who are doing a commendable job in supporting the orphans,” said Mpokosa.

Mpokosa added that they are doing so many fundraising activities to get more funds to reach out to as many children as possible.

“For instance, we craft brooms, baskets, and mould charcoal stoves and after selling them we are getting some money to support the children,” said Mpokosa.

Chimwemwe Laston, one of the beneficiaries, said that as an orphan he faces the hardships of life that include lacking school uniforms, fees, and basic needs.

“I call on people of goodwill to support me and my friends so that we can get a better education,” said Laston.

Honest Kayira, a social welfare officer in the area, said that there is a need to support those kids who cannot support themselves and have no one to help them.

Kayira also thanked the organization for the commendable work they are doing in changing kids’ welfare by improving their lives through educational and material support.
