NICE MOBILIZES NTCHISI TO GET VACCINATED

The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) in Ntchisi is mobilizing people to get vaccinated against Covid following low statistics.

MALAWI: The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) in Ntchisi is mobilizing people to get vaccinated against Covid following low statistics.

The district civic education officer for NICE in Ntchisi, Queen Mataya, said that their organization has noted with great concern the low statistics of people getting vaccinated across the country.

“We have seen that with the low statistics that have been presented across the country, the statistics here are low,” she said.

“So we have embarked on this journey to try to mobilize people to encourage them to get the vaccines so that they can be safe from the Covid.”

A random inquiry about the vaccines in some areas of the district indicates that people are still having misconceptions about the vaccines.

The misconceptions arising from religious beliefs such as linking the vaccines to the mark of 666 as well as cultural beliefs such as women becoming infertile are highly suggested randomly in some areas.

However, through their volunteers, NICE is trying to end these misconceptions by educating people on the truth about vaccines as well as the importance of getting vaccinated.

The organization is on a 10-day mobilization tour in all the areas of the district.
