Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel making waves following his arrest in Tanzania

Kizz Daniel, a Nigerian afrobeat singer, trended heavily on Monday after news of his arrest in Tanzania broke.

For failing to perform at the concert, the musician was briefly detained at Oyster Bay Police Station in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Last Sunday, the "Buga" singer was scheduled to perform at Warehouse Old Nextdoor Arena.

According to media reports, the Nigerian singer allegedly refused to perform at the show because his luggage containing gold chains and clothing had not yet arrived in the country.

The news enraged music fans in attendance at the show.

A video clip that circulated online shows fans who attended the concert stoning as they exited the venue.

Kizz Daniel is scheduled to perform in Malawi on August 27 at the Lilongwe Golf Club.

The show's organizers, Epic Group, whose Chief Executive Officer Yolam Kawanga told local media on Tuesday that their contract is legally binding, assuaged fears of a repeat performance.
