Nsanje DC hails accountability project
The training is part of ActionAid Malawi's Partnership for Social Accountability (PSA) Alliance project in the districts of Nsanje and Mchinji.
Malawi: In Lowershire news, Nsanje District Commissioner Medson Matchaya has praised ActionAid Malawi and Nation Publications Limited (NPL) for building community members' capacity in social accountability, saying the move is in line with the Council's Service Charter, which emphasises transparency and responsiveness.
Matchaya made the remarks today in Nchalo, Chikwawa, at the start of a three-day community journalism training that has brought together participants from Reflect Action Circles in Nsanje District.
The training is part of ActionAid Malawi's Partnership for Social Accountability (PSA) Alliance project in the districts of Nsanje and Mchinji.
Matchaya challenged the participants to consider key issues such as the Affordable Input Program, which he stated requires the support of empowered community members to ensure its effective and efficient implementation on the ground.
In September, ActionAid Malawi and NPL held a similar training for RAC members in Mchinji.
