LILONGWE, MALAWI - Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers are gearing up for a highly anticipated showdown as they prepare to face each other in the opening match of the 2023 TNM Super League at Bingu Stadium on Saturday, writes Alinafe Nyanda.

Both camps have expressed confidence and downplayed any panic, treating the game as a normal one with pride at stake.

The excitement is palpable among supporters as the Super League Association of Malawi (SULAM) announced that this year's opener will be held in the capital city. Defending champions, Bullets, will take on the unpredictable Silver Strikers in what promises to be a thrilling clash to mark the launch of the elite league in the country.

Sports analyst and former Flames player, Willy "Immigration" Chabwinja, described the game as unpredictable, considering the quality and balanced squads of both teams. Chabwinja stated, "The game will provide a true picture among the soccer fraternity in the country to decide which side is better after full time, in terms of performance and how both teams are shaping up for this season."

Chabwinja urged both Bullets and Silver Strikers to use this much-awaited game to motivate and instill the right mindset in their players, emphasizing the importance of starting the season on a positive note.

Both camps echoed the same sentiment, insisting that there is no panic in their ranks and promising their loyal supporters a gallant performance on Saturday afternoon at Bingu National Stadium.

Silver Strikers Chief supporter, Kingsley "No Fear" Malaya, exuded confidence in his team's chances, stating, "Everyone knows Silver is going to win, so we are just going there to get our three points without underestimating Bullets."

Malaya praised SULAM for the exciting launch of the league but assured that Silver Strikers would approach the game against Bullets as a normal one.

Williams Banda, the General Secretary of SULAM, called upon the entire soccer fraternity to witness the league's launch and enjoy the thrilling encounter between Bullets and Silver Strikers.

In a Charity Shield Cup match held last week at the same venue, Bullets managed to outsmart Mighty Mukuru Wanderers with a 2-1 victory, adding to the anticipation and excitement ahead of the league opener.

Soccer fans across Malawi are eagerly anticipating the showdown between Bullets and Silver Strikers, as the two teams vie for an early advantage in the 2023 TNM Super League season. The stage is set for an exhilarating match at Bingu Stadium, and all eyes will be on the pitch come Saturday.
