Onesmus admits ''blunder"
According to a statement released by the artist on Monday, he realized that his jokes went too far and hurt a lot of people, hence the apology.
Malawi: Armstrong Kalua aka Onesmus, Malawi's top artist, swallowed his pride and apologised to his fans for his miscalculated jokes.
Over the weekend, during the relaunch of Kuche Kuche beer at Lilongwe Golf Club by Castel Malawi, Onesmus made remarks that infuriated people.
According to a statement released by the artist on Monday, he realised that his jokes went too far and hurt a lot of people, hence the apology.
" I would like to apologize for my jokes this past weekend. I realised that my jokes hurt some of you and I am sorry about that. We all make mistakes from which we will learn from,” reads part of the statement.
Irate patrons hurled beer bottles at the artist known as African Butter after he allegedly made jokes.
The Solomon hitmaker is said to have said on the show,' men/boyfriends who can't afford material needs of their ladies are useless.'
