Opposition lawmakers cheer up beleaguered Chizuma
During the meeting, Kondwani Nankhumwa, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, was briefed on her arrest and treatment in Namitete police custody.
Malawi: Opposition Members of Parliament paid a visit to the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Martha Chizuma, after her release on December 6, 2022, as a way of expressing their support as Parliament.
During the meeting, Kondwani Nankhumwa, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, was briefed on her arrest and treatment in Namitete police custody.
Chizuma told Nankhumwa that she was asked to kneel down so that they could take her statement and that she was also asked to report on Monday, December 12th, 2022.
Nankhumwa said what has occurred does not make sense to everyone because she has been charged with an offence related to leaked audio, which is already in court.
