President Chakwera devotes majority of his time on welfare of Malawians: Kampondeni

Kampondeni went on to say that in order to fulfil the country's development agenda, President Chakwera spends a lot of time meeting with international development partners.

Malawi: State House Director of Communications Sean Kampondeni said President Lazarus Chakwera devotes the majority of his time to the welfare of Malawians by convincing his cabinet to do the best for the people, meeting with the private sector, and meeting with Malawian partners, to name but a few.

He stated this at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on July 4, 2022, when addressing members of the press from various media houses in a State House Quarterly Brief.

"The president devotes the majority of his time to this country; he meets with Cabinet Ministers on a regular basis to ensure that ministries are focused on serving Malawians, and he spends time meeting with Heads of Government Institutions to ensure that those institutions are serving the entrance of Malawians," he explained.

Kampondeni went on to say that in order to fulfil the country's development agenda, President Chakwera spends a lot of time meeting with international development partners who can provide resources for the country's development.

"In the last quarter, the president met with the Chinese ambassador, the UK Minister for Africa, the US ambassador, and one of the fruits of those meetings was the recent visit of the Chief of USAID, Samantha J. Power, who announced the $158 million package for Malawi," he said.

On July 12, 2022, President Chakwera will kick off the construction and rehabilitation of the M1 road, a massive project worth €117 million, and on July 16, he will travel to Lusaka to attend an AU meeting for Regional Heads of Economic Blocks. On July 19, 2022, there will be a National Youth Service lunch, with K20 billion allocated to the service.
