Prime Insurance partners with Minibus Owners Association of Malawi to offer customized and affordable insurance products to members, writes Wanangwa Mtawali.
Lilongwe, Malawi-Prime Insurance Company Limited has announced a new partnership with the Minibus Owners Association of Malawi (MOAM), aimed at providing affordable and tailor-made insurance products and services to MOAM members, writes Wanangwa Mtawali.
As part of the partnership, Prime Insurance has installed equipment and network systems at MOAM offices in Malangalanga, Lilongwe, enabling members to easily access insurance services.
The partnership also includes defensive driving training for MOAM drivers, with the goal of reducing road accidents that injure and kill passengers and other road users.
In a statement, Prime Insurance CEO Owen Chihana noted that the partnership extends beyond minibuses and encompasses all other insurance products except life insurance.
Chihana added that the collaboration simplifies the company's work, allowing it to easily reach MOAM members while ensuring that they pay affordable premiums agreed upon by MOAM.
Defensive driving training will also help to reduce road accidents, which will lower premium charges to make them more affordable for both parties.
Mayamiko Kamwendo, MOAM Central Region Secretary, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that all minibuses would be insured by Prime Insurance Company at a discounted rate.
Kamwendo also noted that MOAM members would be given priority in terms of claims and compensation. Defensive driving training, according to Kamwendo, would minimize accidents, and protect customers, and businesses.
The partnership was launched on Friday in Lilongwe, with Chihana stating that it establishes a framework for collaboration and expresses the common goals of both institutions.
