Malawi: Salima Lunch Hour Fellowship donated school supplies and food to students at Mua School for the Deaf on Wednesday, 6 July 2022 in order to alleviate their daily problems.
Salima Lunch Hour Fellowship Chairperson Danneck Falinya encouraged students to work extra hard when making the donation.
"This is an opportunity that God has given you, so receiving this donation should motivate you to work even harder," Falinya said.
He also stated that they provided the items as a way of extending God's love to the students.
"Giving is part of extending God's love to our young brothers and sisters here at Mua," Falinya explained.
Henry Chiwaya, the school's headteacher, thanked the ministry for its charitable activities.
"We are so happy and grateful for the donation because these students are in desperate need of so many things, and their act of mercy will help to sort out some of the challenges that Mua students face," Chiwaya said.
He also urged NGOs and well-wishers to follow the example set by the Salima lunch hour fellowship.
"Today, we are fully convinced that there is hope for our students," Chiwaya said.
"However, it is our humble cry to see other NGOs and well-wishers join the waggon in making the lives of Mua school of deaf students easier and better."
A benefactor Margret Patulani, who has residual hearing and mould deafness, also thanked the ministry for the assistance that will help her in her daily life and studies.
She also told Mana that she would work extra hard in school to achieve her goals so that she could help other students like herself.
Exercise books, pens, pencils, soap tablets, body lotion, salt, cooking oil, and soya pieces were among the items donated.
