Stop moving around in the name of crop inspections, Mr. President-Nankhumwa

MALAWI: Kondwani Nankhumwa, DPP vice president for the south and leader of the opposition in Parliament, has asked President Chakwera to stop moving around in the name of crop inspections, “which is unworthy, and instead start meeting with cooking oil manufacturers and other stakeholders to discuss serious issues that will benefit this country”.

Nankhumwa stated this at Mgona in Lilongwe, where he was addressing Malawians, saying almost all commodity prices in this country are high, posing a serious threat to food security.

Nankhumwa has refuted all reports circulating on social media platforms that he has formed his own political party in order to destroy his reputation.

"I'm not shaken by the rumors circulating on social media that I've formed my own political party. I will never leave DPP because I was born and raised there. When it comes to convention, I will run for DPP and expect to win with 95 percent of the vote," he explained.

Greizelder stated that there is no DPP 1 or DPP 2, and that this rally was allegedly sanctioned by former President, Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Nicholas Dausi, National Publicity Secretary and Mwanza Central legislator stated that their party has no conflicts and that no one should dare to create enmity between them and their president, Peter Mutharika, because he is a good man.

The rally was attended by 14 MPs, including Nicholas Dausi, Sameer Suleman, Ralph Jooma, Joyce Chitsulo, Werani Chilenga, Mark Botomani, and Gertrude Nankhumwa, to name a few.
