Young Achievers Partner with Castel to Aid Cyclone Freddy Victims in Blantyre
YAD, an organization belonging to various youths, partnered with Castel Malawi on March 20, 2023, to assist people affected by Cyclone Freddy in parts of Blantyre, writes Kumbukani Mwase.
Malawi - Young Achievers for Development (YAD), an organization belonging to various youths, partnered with Castel Malawi on March 20, 2023, to assist people affected by Cyclone Freddy in parts of Blantyre, writes Kumbukani Mwase.
The distributed items amounted to over MK 20 million, including maize flour, clothing, and relish to improve the lives of those affected by the evacuation that left them vulnerable due to the cyclone.
During the distribution, Jefferson Milazie, a YAD representative, said, "YAD has been involved in a couple of activities. Our team has distributed various assorted items and helped recover bodies trapped in the mud."
Abida Mia, the Minister of Water and Sanitation, appreciated the efforts of youth groups in giving back hope to those affected and highlighted the need for continued efforts to assist those affected by the cyclone.
The youth belonging to Young Achievers for Development shared the importance of the work they are doing in helping the needy and providing support for a better recovery from the damage caused by the cyclone.
